This was the very first full-length cartoon movie ever made. Walt Disney spent four years on it. It saved the company. Every Disney princess since is built on top of this one. And it's an Egyptian funeral ritual.

In ancient Egypt, the number one religious story was this: a good king named Osiris is murdered by his evil brother. His body is put in a sealed coffin. His wife mourns. Through a sacred ritual, he is brought back to life. Priests acted this story out every year.

Good girl is betrayed by an evil relative (stepmother). She's poisoned and placed in a sealed glass coffin. The mourners (the dwarfs) weep over her body. A kiss brings her back to life. Then a wedding and a new kingdom. That's the Osiris story. Same structure, same beats, same ending.

Why Are There SEVEN Dwarfs?

In the ancient world, everybody believed there were exactly seven "wandering lights" in the sky — the sun, the moon, and the five planets you can see with your eyes. Every pagan religion built its worship around these seven. The seven days of the week are named after them.

The seven dwarfs are the seven planetary guardians. Snow White lives with them during her death-sleep. In ancient mythology, the soul was believed to pass through seven guardian spirits on its journey through death. Disney gave them cute names — Happy, Grumpy, Sleepy — and a work song. But structurally? Seven planetary guardians watching over the sleeping soul.

The Magic Mirror Is Witchcraft

Staring into a reflective surface to get answers from a spirit has a name — mirror divination. It's documented from ancient Egypt through medieval Europe.

"There shall not be found among you any one that... useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch."

The Queen is a witch. She consults a spirit through a mirror, brews a potion, shape-shifts, and curses an apple. Every single one of those is named in the Torah as an abomination.

Wait, the Apple Too?

Think about the scene: A deceptive figure in disguise offers fruit to an innocent girl. She eats it. She falls into a death-like state. That's Genesis 3 — the Garden of Eden — retold with the solution replaced.

In Genesis, the fall brought real death that only Messiah's blood could undo. In Snow White, the "death" is fake — just a sleep that a prince's kiss can reverse. No Savior needed. No sacrifice. Just a kiss.

What Your Daughters Are Learning

Mirrors and magic spells are real and powerful.
Witches are scary but their methods actually work.
Death can be undone by a kiss — no Savior required.
Your value is your beauty.
A prince will find your body in the forest and fix everything.

None of that is what Scripture teaches. Every bit of it is what ancient pagan religion taught. For three thousand years.

The Story Is Much Older Than the Grimms

The Snow White tale-type is cataloged as Aarne-Thompson Type 709. The core elements appear across Europe, the Mediterranean, and the Near East — far beyond the German forests of the Grimm brothers.

Behind every medieval version stands the older pattern: the mother goddess dies, is placed in a coffin, mourned by initiates, and raised by a male consort. This is the Isis-Osiris cycle of Egypt, the Tammuz-Ishtar of Babylon, and the Persephone-Demeter of Greece. The death-and-resurrection of the feminine divine is the beating heart of mystery-religion initiation, and it predates any European folklore collection by millennia.

Snow White is the oldest funeral in Egypt, the oldest resurrection in Babylon, and the oldest mystery in Greece — wearing a blue dress and singing to birds.

Isis, Osiris, and the Death-and-Resurrection Pattern

Osiris, the good king, is betrayed and murdered by his brother Set.
His body is sealed in a coffin and cast away.
Isis, his wife, mourns and searches.
Through sacred ritual, he is restored to life.
His restoration is celebrated as the source of all fertility and life in the land.

Now map it to Snow White: a wicked relative (stepmother / Set) poisons the innocent one; she is placed in a sealed glass coffin; the dwarfs (Isis / the mourning initiates) weep over her body; a kiss — the ritual breath — restores her to life; resurrection leads directly to marriage and a new kingdom.

The Seven Dwarfs Are the Seven Planets

The known "planets" of the ancient world numbered exactly seven: the sun, the moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn. Every major occult system organized reality around these seven. The seven-day week is named after them — Sunday, Monday, and the remaining five carry the names of the planetary gods in every European language.

In mystery-religion initiation, the soul was understood to descend through the seven planetary spheres at birth and ascend through them again at death or enlightenment. The seven dwarfs are these seven planetary guardians. Snow White dwells among them during her death-sleep — the soul in transit through the planetary spheres, awaiting its awakening.

The Mirror of the Queen

Mirror divination — catoptromancy — is a recognized category of ancient witchcraft. It is documented from Egypt through Greece and Rome and into medieval Europe. The practice involves staring into a reflective surface to communicate with or receive answers from a spirit or spiritual intelligence. The Queen does this on screen, in a children's film, framed as atmospheric villainy.

The Queen practices witchcraft on screen. She consults a spirit through a mirror, brews a poison potion, shape-shifts into a hag, and curses an apple. Every single act is named in the Torah. Disney presented it as atmospheric villainy for five-year-olds.

The Poisoned Apple

A deceptive figure in disguise offers fruit to an innocent girl with a false promise. She eats it. She falls into a death-like state. This is Genesis 3 — the Garden of Eden — retold with the solution replaced.

"And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die... And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes... she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat."

The pagan mystery religions taught that the fall was an illusion — a sleep reversible by the right ritual performed by the right initiate. Snow White sides with the mystery religions. The kiss of the prince, not the blood of the Lamb, brings her back. There is no cross in Snow White. There is no sacrifice. There is only a ritual, performed on a sleeping body, restoring life without atonement.

The Glass Coffin and the Kiss

The glass coffin is a display case — a transparent enclosure that shows the body without allowing it to decay from sight, exactly as glass sarcophagi functioned in Egyptian temple contexts. The body is preserved, visible, beautiful, waiting.

The kiss is the "opening of the mouth" ceremony. In Egyptian funerary religion, this ritual was performed on mummies to restore the faculties of the dead — the mouth opened so the spirit could speak, eat, and live again in the afterlife. A designated priest performed it. In Snow White, the prince performs it.

Modern viewers experience the kiss as romantic. The ancient source material presents it as sacramental. The ritual restores life. Only the blood of Messiah Yahushua does that — not the kiss of a prince found wandering in the forest.

Only one rite restores the dead — a cross and an empty tomb, not a kiss and a glass coffin.

Why Disney Built Its Empire on This Story

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs was Disney's first full-length animated feature, produced over four years and released in 1937. It saved the studio from bankruptcy. Every Disney princess that followed — Cinderella, Aurora, Ariel, Belle — is built on the structural foundation that Snow White established.

The castle on the Disney logo is Snow White's castle. The company's identity is rooted in this film. Walt Disney's documented membership in DeMolay International — the Masonic youth organization, named after the last Grand Master of the Knights Templar — sits in the background of that founding. The first feature-length animation in cinema history is an Egyptian mystery-religion initiation rite. That is not an accusation. It is a structural observation.

What Scripture Teaches Instead

No mirror to consult — a Word that speaks clearly and does not change with the asker's beauty. No prince whose kiss restores the dead — a Messiah whose blood atones for sin and whose resurrection guarantees the resurrection of all who are in Him. No seven dwarfs standing guard over the sleeping soul — one Shepherd who neither slumbers nor sleeps.

That is the resurrection story. It is not a myth. It is not a ritual. It is a Person — and He does not require a glass coffin, a forest prince, or seven planetary guardians.

What Snow White Teaches a Child

Mirrors can be consulted for truth.
Witches are powerful and their methods — spells, potions, transformation — are effective.
Death is a sleep that can be reversed by the right ritual.
A kiss from a prince restores life — not faith, not the blood of a Savior.
Beauty is the maiden's essential value.

None of these are the teaching of Scripture. They are the teaching of the mystery religions of Egypt, Babylon, and Greece — repackaged as the foundation story of the Disney empire and handed to children as innocent entertainment.
