Acts 2:22 — A Man Approved of God

At Shavuot, Peter stood before the crowd in Jerusalem and said, “Yahushua of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you” (Acts 2:22).

Peter called him a man. Then he said who did the miracles: God did them, by him. The miracles were not proof that Yahushua was God. They were proof that God had approved this man and was working through him.

This was the first sermon after the cross, preached by an apostle who had walked with Yahushua for years. If the Son were God the Son, this was the day to say so. Peter said “a man.”
