Matthew 28:18 — All Power Is Given Unto Me

“All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth” (Matthew 28:18).

Given. If the Son were God, all power would already be his, and no one could give it to him. Power that is given came from a giver.

Paul names the giver and shows the order: “he is excepted, which did put all things under him. And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all” (1 Corinthians 15:27-28). The One who gave the power is not under it. The Son who received it will himself be subject to Him.
