Proverbs 28:9 — An Ear Turned from the Law
The man who will not hear the Law is not heard when he prays.
He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination.
Proverbs 28:9
Proverbs 28:9 gives one rule: “He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination.” The charge is not against a man who stumbles while walking in the Law. It is against the man who will not listen to it. The very thing he offers up to Yahuah, his prayer, is counted an abomination.
The rule did not end with Solomon. John wrote it again after the tree: “whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight” (1 John 3:22). Answered prayer and kept commandments stand together on both sides of the tree.
A pulpit that teaches the Law is done away teaches men to turn their ear from it. The man who believes that teaching has not been set free to pray. He has been taught to pray the prayer Yahuah calls abomination.
