John 5:24 — Believe on Him That Sent Me
Yahushua named who must be believed for everlasting life.
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

The pulpit invitation is nearly always the same: believe in Jesus and be saved. Yahushua set the terms with more care than that. In John 5:24 He names two things. Hear His word. Believe on the One who sent Him. Everlasting life is attached to belief in the Sender.
He said it again in even plainer words: “He that believeth on me, believeth not on me, but on him that sent me” (John 12:44). And in His prayer to the Father He named who the true God is: “this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Yahushua Messiah, whom thou hast sent” (John 17:3).
The Son is the one sent, carrying the Father’s word. The Father is the one believed. A gospel that asks for belief in the Son while leaving the Father out, or folds the two into one, is not the gospel Yahushua preached. Hear the Son. Believe Yahuah who sent Him.
