Hebrews 5:8 — He Learned Obedience
God knows all things and cannot learn, but the Son learned obedience.
Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered.
Hebrews 5:8
“Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered” (Hebrews 5:8). The verse before says he prayed “with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death” (Hebrews 5:7).
Yahuah cannot learn. Isaiah asks, “Who hath directed the Spirit of Yahuah, or being his counsellor hath taught him?” (Isaiah 40:13). No one teaches God anything.
The Son learned. The Son cried out to the One able to save him from death. One who learns, and who must be saved from death by another, is not God. He is the Son, and Hebrews says so: “though he were a Son.”
