2 Peter 1:17 — He Received Honour and Glory From the Father
Glory received from another is glory given, and the Son passed it on to his followers.
For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
2 Peter 1:17
Peter was on the mountain. He wrote, “For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased” (2 Peter 1:17).
The Son received. The Father gave. The voice from the glory did not say “This is God.” It said “This is my beloved Son.”
Glory received is glory given. Yahushua said so in his prayer: “And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them” (John 17:22). The same glory went on to his followers. Receiving glory from the Father did not make the Son the Father, and it does not make his followers God either.
