1 John 2:4 — He That Saith, I Know Him
John's test for knowing Him, and the name he gives the man who fails it.
He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
1 John 2:4
John gives one test for knowing Him: “Hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments” (1 John 2:3).
These are not new commandments. “I write no new commandment unto you, but an old commandment which ye had from the beginning” (1 John 2:7). They are the commandments of Yahuah.
The walk is His walk: “He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked” (1 John 2:6). Yahushua said, “I have kept my Father’s commandments” (John 15:10).
The pulpit today says the blood is all that matters and the commandments can go. John says the man who claims to know Him and does not keep them is a liar (1 John 2:4). The pulpit calls him saved. John calls him a liar. Only one of them wrote Scripture.
