Matthew 28:19 — In Whose Name the Apostles Baptized

The apostles heard the command firsthand, and every baptism in Acts is in the name of Yahushua.

Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.

Matthew 28:19

“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost” (Matthew 28:19). This is the verse most often used to show the Trinity in a single line.

The apostles were standing there when the command was given, so watch what they did with it. Peter: “be baptized every one of you in the name of Yahushua Messiah” (Acts 2:38). In Samaria, “they were baptized in the name of the Lord Yahushua” (Acts 8:16). At Cornelius’s house, “in the name of the Lord” (Acts 10:48). At Ephesus, “in the name of the Lord Yahushua” (Acts 19:5). Not one baptism in Scripture uses the three-part words. Luke’s account of the same commission says “repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations” (Luke 24:47).

History agrees with the apostles. Eusebius of Caesarea, writing before the Council of Nicaea, quoted this verse many times as “Go ye and make disciples of all nations in my name.” The men who heard the command baptized in one name, the name of Yahushua.
