Revelation 22:3-4 — One Face and One Name at the End of Revelation

The last throne scene in the Bible reads: “the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him: and they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads” (Revelation 22:3-4). Two are named at the throne, God and the Lamb. Then every word that follows is singular: serve him, his face, his name. Trinitarian teachers point to this verse and say the singular proves the two are one being. Revelation itself settles the question, because it already said whose name goes in the forehead.

Eight chapters earlier, John saw the Lamb standing on mount Sion with the 144,000, “having his Father’s name written in their foreheads” (Revelation 14:1). Yahushua made the same promise to the overcomer: “I will write upon him the name of my God” (Revelation 3:12). The name in the forehead is the Father’s name, so the “his” of Revelation 22:4 is the Father. The face is His as well. Yahushua taught that the pure in heart “shall see God” (Matthew 5:8), and John wrote that “no man hath seen God at any time” (John 1:18). Revelation 22 is the day that promise is kept. One face. One name. Yahuah.

The Lamb is there, but in His own place. He is the One who came and “took the book out of the right hand of him that sat upon the throne” (Revelation 5:7), and He sits “on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens” (Hebrews 8:1). A son seated beside his father’s throne does not turn two into one, and there is no third anywhere in the scene. The Bible closes the way it opened: one Elohim on the throne, and His Son who made the way for His servants to finally see His face.
