Hebrews 11:3 — The Ages Framed by the Spoken Word
Hebrews names the instrument of creation in one word.
Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.
Hebrews 11:3
“Worlds” is aionas (G165), ages. “Framed” is katartizo (G2675), to set in order, to fit together. “Word” is rhema (G4487), the spoken word, not logos. Genesis 1 shows it ten times over: “And God said.” Psalm 33:6 and 9 agree: “By the word of Yahuah were the heavens made … For he spake, and it was done.”
Trinitarian teaching says the Son created all things. Hebrews 11:3 names the instrument, and it is the spoken word of God. A word that is spoken is not a second person standing beside the speaker. The framing of the ages is also the ordering of time itself. On the fourth day Yahuah set the lights in the firmament “for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years” (Genesis 1:14). The calendar is built into the frame of creation, and belief is how the reader comes to understand it.
