Hebrews 8:2 — The True Tabernacle Yahuah Pitched
A tent no man set up, with a priest serving in it now.
A minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which Yahuah pitched, and not man.
Hebrews 8:2
The word for minister is leitourgos (G3011), a priestly servant, one who carries out public service at the sanctuary. The word for tabernacle is skene (G4633), a tent. Yahushua serves as priest in a tent that Yahuah pitched with His own hand. Moses pitched the tent in the wilderness (Exodus 33:7), and Solomon built the house in Jerusalem, but this one no man set up.
“True” does not mean the first tabernacle was false. It means the first was a copy and this is the original it was copied from. The earthly tent was real and holy, and it was built to show Israel something larger. The church often teaches that the tabernacle is old furniture with nothing left to say. Hebrews says the tabernacle still stands, in heaven, with a priest serving in it now.
