Proverbs 16:28 — Two Kinds of Dividing
Yahuah separates the unlike. The accuser separates the like.
A froward man soweth strife: and a whisperer separateth chief friends.
Proverbs 16:28
Yahuah divides. On the first day He divided the light from the darkness (Genesis 1:4). He told Israel plainly that He had separated them from the other people to be His own (Leviticus 20:24). So division by itself cannot be the enemy’s fingerprint. The Most High does it on the first page.
But look at what He divides. Light and darkness were never one thing. Israel and the nations were never one thing. He draws His line between two things that were already different, and the line is what makes each of them what it is. That kind of separating is obedience, and He commands His people to do the same.
Now look at what the accuser divides. The man and his wife were one flesh (Genesis 2:24), and the first words out of the serpent’s mouth put a crack straight through it. A whisperer separates close friends (Proverbs 16:28) — close friends, not strangers. He never draws a line between two things that were different. He runs a crack through one whole thing, and then he asks you to call the crack holy.
So there is a test, and it is one question: does this line run between two things, or through one? Yahuah separates the unlike. The accuser separates the like.
