The serpent speaks first in Eden, religious words with deadly content (Gen 3:1-5). Torah marks the prophet who speaks presumptuously in Yahuah's name (Deut 18:20-22), and Jeremiah warns, "they speak a vision of their own heart" (Jer 23:16). Daniel's ram carries two horns as a kingdom (Dan 8:3, 20), and Nebuchadnezzar's herald enforces worship of the image (Dan 3:1-7). Revelation's second beast rises from the land, a native-looking power: the first beast looks foreign, the second looks native. Two horns like a lamb are resemblance without identity; its dragon speech is religious authority with demonic content, restoring the first beast through worship. The book identifies it as the United States.
