The harp first meets prophecy at Gibeah, where Saul met a company of prophets with "a psaltery, and a tabret, and a pipe, and a harp" (1 Sam 10:5), and when the minstrel played "the hand of Yahuah came upon" Elisha (2 Kgs 3:15). David then set apart the sons of Asaph, Heman and Jeduthun "who should prophesy with harps" (1 Chr 25:1-3). The Psalms keep the instrument at the center of praise (Ps 33:2; 92:1-3). The book reads the harps of Revelation as the instrument of the Levitical ministry David appointed, so the setting is a priestly assembly. They carry prophetic declaration and priestly praise that testify to what Yahuah has done.
