The Torah sets a day of "blowing of trumpets" in the seventh month (Lev 23:24) and commands an alarm when Israel goes to war (Num 10:9). At Jericho seven priests with seven trumpets circled the city before it fell (Josh 6:4-20), and Yahuah Himself "shall blow the trumpet" (Zech 9:14). The book reads the seven trumpets as contempt charges, escalating penalties after the Court's ruling at the tree, "Now is the judgment of this world" (John 12:31), and warnings before final sentencing, framed by Yom Teruah. They sound through the assembly age as spiritual warfare between the two comings. The futurist reading of seven literal catastrophes misses Jericho: trumpets announce a battle Yahuah has already decided.
