The tree of life stands in the midst of Eden (Gen 2:9), then is guarded by cherubim and "a flaming sword which turned every way" (Gen 3:24). Proverbs ties it to the commandments: "forget not my law... She is a tree of life" (Prov 3:1, 18). Ezekiel sees sanctuary trees bearing fruit "according to his months" (Ezek 47:12). In Revelation the tree stands open and no sword bars the way; eating is a legal verdict, not a reward, and twelve monthly fruits show covenant life complete. The claim that the Law was abolished meets Rev 22:14: "Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life."
