The Old Paths

He Became a Living Soul

He Did Not Receive One

The Immortal Soul

Yahuah formed man of the dust and breathed into him, and man became a living nephesh. He was not issued one. The same phrase describes the creatures of the sea and the field four verses earlier. Dust he was and to dust he returns; Ezekiel states twice in one chapter that the soul that sins dies, and the Psalms say the thoughts perish the same day the breath goes. Immortality is a promise held for the resurrection, not a possession held from birth.
