The Torah first names "the destroyer" held back from the houses marked with blood at Pesach (Exod 12:23). Job sets Abaddon beside the grave: "Hell is naked before him, and destruction hath no covering" (Job 26:6; 28:22), and the Psalms and Proverbs pair it with sheol (Ps 88:11; Prov 15:11; 27:20). The book reads the name, given in Hebrew and Greek for the record, as the Destroyer, and the single king over the locusts as a coordinated counterfeit authority, released for a limited time with a set assignment. It is not a rival power acting on its own; even the destroyer at Pesach moved only where Yahuah permitted.
