After the golden calf Moses pleaded, "blot me, I pray thee, out of thy book which thou hast written," and Yahuah answered, "Whosoever hath sinned against me, him will I blot out of my book" (Exod 32:32-33). David asks that the wicked be "blotted out of the book of the living" (Ps 69:28), and Daniel's deliverance belongs to everyone "found written in the book" (Dan 12:1). Revelation carries the register into the judgment (20:12, 15): not a list of good deeds but a record of belonging, and it determines the verdict. The promise not to blot out the overcomer's name (3:5) assumes a name can be blotted out, answering the teaching that deliverance once entered can never be lost.
