Israel's camp was ordered tribe by tribe around the tabernacle (Num 2), and "Yahuah thy Elohim walketh in the midst of thy camp... therefore shall thy camp be holy" (Deut 23:14). Fire from heaven answers the soldiers sent against Elijah (2 Kgs 1:10-12) and rains on Gog with brimstone (Ezek 38:22), "and I will send a fire on Magog" (Ezek 39:6). The camp of the saints and the beloved city is the true assembly, defined by whose authority governs it, not by coordinates on a map; "Yahuah loveth the gates of Zion" (Ps 87:2). The fire falls in the confrontation that is not a battle: one weapon, one fire, one judgment. No earthly Jerusalem siege is required.
