After the fall Adam and Eve "sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons" (Gen 3:7), human craft applied to a divine problem, a covering that could not hold before the Judge. Yahuah removed it and "made coats of skins, and clothed them" (Gen 3:21), a ketonet that required blood. The Prophets keep the pattern: Yahuah clothes Jerusalem (Ezek 16:10), "he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation" (Isa 61:10), and Joshua's filthy garments are taken away and replaced (Zech 3:4). Laodicea, rich in self-made covering yet counseled to buy "white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed" (Rev 3:18), is that scene replayed at the end of the age.
