Hosea promises, "after two days will he revive us: in the third day he will raise us up" (Hos 6:2), and Isaiah, "Thy dead men shall live" (Isa 26:19). Ezekiel stands in the valley of dry bones and is told to prophesy until breath enters them: "I shall put my spirit in you, and ye shall live" (Ezek 37:14). The first resurrection of Revelation 20 is spiritual and present, pictured by those bones: a person coming to life in Messiah throughout the gospel age. The bodily resurrection of Daniel 12:2 comes once, at the return. The futurist scheme of a pre-tribulation resurrection, then a millennium, then another resurrection, multiplies what the text keeps single.
