"Shall the prey be taken from the mighty, or the lawful captive delivered? ... Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away" (Isa 49:24-25). Isaiah sees the host of the high ones "gathered together, as prisoners are gathered in the pit, and shall be shut up in the prison" (Isa 24:22), and the key of David laid on a shoulder, "he shall open, and none shall shut" (Isa 22:22). In Revelation 20 Yahuah holds the lock, not the enemy. Satan was bound at the cross as the strong man (Matt 12:29; Col 2:15): authority stripped, not enemy eliminated. The thousand years is the present age of the gospel, not a future earthly kingdom.
