Pharaoh first commands every son "cast into the river" (Exod 1:22). David says, "the floods of ungodly men made me afraid" (Ps 18:4), Israel confesses, "the waters had overwhelmed us" but for Yahuah (Ps 124:4), and Isaiah promises, "when thou passest through the waters... they shall not overflow thee" (Isa 43:2). Isaiah ties the flood to speech: the enemy comes "like a flood" against a people "uttering from the heart words of falsehood" (Isa 59:13, 19). Revelation's flood comes from the mouth, so it is teaching, persuasion and ideology, a spiritual assault to overwhelm Yahuah's people by mass deception. The mouth is the weapon. A literal flood or invading army misses it.
