Michael is named only in Daniel, first as "one of the chief princes" who helps the messenger against the prince of Persia (Dan 10:13, 21), then as "the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people" (Dan 12:1). Revelation's war in heaven is not a pre-creation event but the legal consequence of Messiah's finished work, following the child caught up to the throne (Rev 12:5). Michael is the great prince guarding the covenant people, an angel and not Yahushua: when it says angel, it means angel. The teaching that Michael is the Son is answered by Daniel's own phrase, "one of the chief princes," one among peers, which no text says of the Son.
