Abram first lifts his hand "unto Yahuah, the most high El" (Gen 14:22), and Yahuah says, "I lift up my hand to heaven, and say, I live for ever" (Deut 32:40). Daniel's man in linen raises both hands and swears "by him that liveth for ever" (Dan 12:7). The stance on sea and land is a claim of total jurisdiction; the Court will not grant another continuance. "No more delay" is not a prediction but a ruling. The oath names the Creator in the words of the Sabbath commandment, "heaven, and earth, the sea, and all that in them is" (Exod 20:11), answering the claim that the fourth commandment was abolished.
