Isaiah foretells Babylon's fall: "these two things shall come to thee in a moment in one day" (Isa 47:9), and Jeremiah, "Babylon is suddenly fallen" (Jer 51:8). Belshazzar's kingdom ended the same night the hand wrote on the wall (Dan 5:5, 30). The book reads Revelation's "one hour" not as sixty minutes but as a legal idiom for swift, complete and decisive judgment, confirmed by three witnesses in chapter 18 (Deut 19:15). By the day-for-a-year rule (Num 14:34; Ezek 4:6) and a 360-day year, one hour is fifteen days, the fall-feast window from Yom Teruah on the first of the seventh month, through Yom Kippur, to the opening of Sukkot on the fifteenth (Lev 23:23-34).
