The Torah first counts "each day for a year" (Num 14:34), and Ezekiel bears iniquity "each day for a year" (Ezek 4:6). Hosea promises revival after a brief count of days (Hos 6:2), and Daniel's week is broken "in the midst" (Dan 9:27). Revelation's three and a half days are half of seven, a broken measure: the suppression of the witnesses is real but limited. The book offers a parallel in France, 1793-1797, while noting that it does not prove fulfillment by itself. The futurist picture of two corpses displayed for three literal days before a watching world misses the half-week pattern Daniel already fulfilled in Messiah and the day-for-year key Moses and Ezekiel supply.
