The Torah first sets the measure: "each day for a year" (Num 14:34), repeated to Ezekiel (Ezek 4:6). Daniel sees the saints given into the little horn's hand "until a time and times and the dividing of time" (Dan 7:25; 12:7), and the Torah requires matters established by witnesses (Deut 19:15). Revelation states the period three ways, 1,260 days, forty-two months, time, times and half a time: three synchronized camera angles on one conflict, legally established by three witnesses. By day-for-year it is 1,260 years, about AD 538-1798. Futurism makes it the back half of a coming seven-year tribulation, but Daniel's seventieth week was fulfilled when Messiah caused the sacrifice to cease in its midst (Dan 9:27).
