Yahuah led Israel in a pillar of cloud (Exod 13:21) and came to Sinai "in a thick cloud, that the people may hear" (Exod 19:9). He "maketh the clouds his chariot" (Ps 104:3), and "the clouds are the dust of his feet" (Nah 1:3). Daniel sees one like the son of man "with the clouds of heaven" brought before the Ancient of days (Dan 7:13). The book reads the clouds as royal and judicial imagery, not weather. He comes with the clouds and "every eye shall see him," which rules out a secret rapture; a return seen by every eye is no secret.
