The image appears once in the Old Testament, as the heavenly court opens: "the Ancient of days did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne was like the fiery flame" (Dan 7:9). Then "one like the Son of man" is brought near before the Ancient of days and given dominion (Dan 7:13-14). The book reads the white hair of Revelation 1:14 as judicial: the Judge is dressed for sentencing. The claim that the shared description makes them one Person fails in Daniel, where the Son of man is brought to the Ancient of days and receives what He did not already hold.
