Abraham's seed is first likened to the stars (Gen 15:5). Joseph dreams that "the sun and the moon and the eleven stars made obeisance to me" (Gen 37:9), and Jacob reads it at once as the family of Israel (Gen 37:10); the twelve sons become "the twelve tribes" (Gen 49:28). The crown of twelve stars on the woman (Rev 12:1) gathers the twelve tribes and the twelve apostles, showing continuity between the old and new covenant communities: one people, not two. It reflects covenant structure and divine order, in contrast to the dragon's seven crowns of usurped rule (Rev 12:3). Readings that make it a zodiac wheel or a Marian halo replace Joseph's dream with astrology or tradition.
