Joseph's dream first makes sun, moon and stars the ruling household (Gen 37:9-10), and Egypt's plague of darkness falls while "all the children of Israel had light" (Exod 10:23). Micah writes, "the sun shall go down over the prophets" (Mic 3:6), and Amos joins the darkened sun at noon to "a famine... of hearing the words of Yahuah" (Amos 8:9-11). Revelation's fourth trumpet is Yahuah withdrawing guidance, truth and prophetic voice, a judicial response to uncorrected corruption; the lights are ruling and teaching authority. Historically it marks the Latin-only Scripture of the Dark Ages. The literal cosmic blackout of futurism is answered by Amos, who defined the darkness as a famine of the Word.
