Joseph's dream makes sun, moon and stars the household's rulers (Gen 37:9-10), and Isaiah darkens the sun over Babylon's fall as rulers overthrown (Isa 13:10). Yahuah's own are promised that "the sun shall not smite thee by day" (Ps 121:6; Isa 49:10). Malachi joins both sides in one day: it "shall burn as an oven" for the proud, while "unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings" (Mal 4:1-2). In the fourth bowl the sun is ruling authority and leadership, not the physical star, turning on those it should protect. The same day that scorches the rebellious heals the faithful.
