Solomon set up two bronze pillars in the porch of the temple: "he set up the right pillar, and called the name thereof Jachin: and he set up the left pillar, and called the name thereof Boaz" (1 Kgs 7:21; 2 Chr 3:17), names that declare "He shall establish" and "In Him is strength." Jeremiah is made "an iron pillar" against the land (Jer 1:18), and the faithful receive "a place and a name... that shall not be cut off" (Isa 56:5). The book reads the promise to Philadelphia as permanence, honor and stability, both declarations carried by the overcomer. "He shall go no more out" means no more exile or separation from the presence.
