The Psalms first say the heavens "shall wax old like a garment" and be changed (Ps 102:26). Isaiah's oracle against Edom has "the heavens shall be rolled together as a scroll: and all their host shall fall down" (Isa 34:4), and Daniel's little horn "cast down some of the host and of the stars" (Dan 8:10). Revelation's falling stars are rulers and institutions brought down from exalted positions. The heaven that "departed as a scroll when it is rolled together" (Rev 6:14) is removal, not unrolling: the canopy of religious power that stood between men and Yahuah is taken away, and Scripture goes out in the common tongues. The futurist meteor reading ignores Isaiah, whose falling host judged Edom.
