Rev 12:16

At the Red Sea Moses sang, "Thou stretchedst out thy right hand, the earth swallowed them" (Exod 15:12), and in the wilderness the ground clave asunder beneath Korah, Dathan and Abiram, "and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed them up" (Num 16:31-33; Ps 106:17). In both scenes the earth becomes Yahuah's instrument against those who rose up against His people and His appointed order. Revelation 12:16 repeats the act: the earth helps the woman and swallows the flood the dragon cast out of his mouth after her. Earth here is the general population, which absorbs the weapon aimed at the faithful, and the remnant survives scattered: preservation through dispersion, not rescue by removal.
