Yahuah first clothed the guilty in Eden (Gen 3:21). The Torah dresses the priests in linen "for glory and for beauty" (Exod 28:2), David prays to be "whiter than snow" (Ps 51:7), and Zechariah watches filthy garments removed from the high priest before the court (Zech 3:3-5). The white robes of Revelation are stolai, the long robes of honor a king drapes over someone he publicly elevates, not wages, washed in the Lamb's blood as the uniform of the acquitted. They join the bride's linen, "the righteousness of saints" (Rev 19:8): entry by the blood, then a walk in the commandments. The book's question stands: who made the covering, and what did it cost?
