Qerev is to draw near, to approach; haqrev, its causative, is to be brought near — formally presented before authority. In Daniel’s vision, one “like the Son of man... came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him” (Daniel 7:13). This is not a casual approach but a legal presentation: escorted into the presence of the court to receive what the bench confers. The same root governs the bringing near of offerings and of persons before Yahuah. To be brought near is to be presented before the bench — and in Daniel 7, the One presented receives dominion, glory, and a kingdom from the Ancient of Days.
